Tujuan Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) "Purpose of Electronic Fuel Injection"

Tujuan dari terciptanya Technology Electronic Fuel Injection (Purpose of Electronic Fuel Injection) antara lain sebagai berikut:

   * Meningkatkan effisiensi penggunaan bahan bakar (fuel efficiency),
    * Kinerja mesin jauh  lebih maksimal (optimal engine performance),
    * Pengendalian/pengoperasian mesin lebih mudah (easy handling),
    * Memperpanjang umur/lifetime dan daya tahan kerja mesin (durability),
    * Emisi gas buang lebih rendah (low emissions).

Keuntungn dan kelemahan Technology Fuel injection




Benefits

1. More  fuel efficient, because the gasoline used in accordance with the needs of an ideal machine.

2. Acceleration is more responsive, optimal combustion engine takes place on all machines working conditions

3. Equipped fault code indicator (drawing machine in the dashboard) that will illuminate when there is damage    to the EFI components, so thst damage is detected immediately.

4. Combustion cleaner, more powerful engines, more durable and lower exhaust gas enission, more precision as adapted to the needs of the machine is not affected by weather conditions, hot or cold temperatures, high efficiency, so that the machine is always able to work optimally at all times and more efficient fuel use.

Weakness

1. Treatment is very specific, requiring specialized equipment and skilled machanic that seem more complicated.
2. Susceptible to water because of the many electrical components
3. Sensitive to electromagnetic wave interference due to the complexity of wiring.

JENIS MESIN INJEKSI (EFI)

Jenis-jenis mesin injeksi / Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)

            Electronic Petrol Injection (EPI) atau juga disebut Eletronic Fuel Injection (EFI) adalah teknologi pengontrolan penginjeksian bahan bakar yang berkembang saat ini pada mesin bensin menggantikan karburator. Umumnya system EPI/EFI terbagi atas 2 jenis :

1. Berdasarkan jumlah injectornya.

2. Berdasarkan penempatan injectornya.

1.1. Berdasarkan jumlah injektornya mesin EPI atau EFI terdiri dari :

1.1.1. Single Point Injection.(SPI)

             Single Point Injection (SPI) atau biasa disebut Throttle Body Injection (TBI) atau Central Fuel Injection System: yaitu hanya menggunakan satu Fuel Injector untuk beberapa Cylinder. Injektornya dipasang sebelum saluran isap yaitu di atas katup throttle. Prinsip kerjanya satu injektor memasok bensin untuk keperluan beberapa silinder sekaligus. Konstruksi dari Single point injection dapat dilihat pada gambar 3.
